POM

  • Commonly called POM, it is a thermoplastic with high strength and stiffness. As a semi-crystalline material, Acetal offers excellent dimensional stability. It is also characterized by a low coefficient of friction. Great temperature range (-49 F to + 212 F)
  • Easily machinable
  • Low moisture absorption
  • Good wear and abrasion resistance
  • FDA grades readily available

POM is an extremely string material having very high impact resistance. The resistance to fatigue is so high in this material that it is considered equivalent to metal. It is used in place of metal in applications that require a lighter alternative. It is used in applications like gears, fasteners, bearings, and more.
