MVQ Silicone Get A Quote

Silicone is a rubber (MVQ), which can be used for O-rings, gaskets and special seals. Silicone is an elastomer made from silicon, oxygen, hydrogen, and carbon. The key use of this material is in static seals employed in a wide (-75° F to +450° F) range of temperatures.

This material is not recommended for dynamic situations due to poor abrasion resistance and high friction characteristics. And due to its poor mechanical properties compared to other rubbers, SSP Silicone is mainly used for static applications. It is highly resistant to weathering, ozone and ageing. Silicone also has a high resistance to dry heat, ultraviolet light and ozone. The compatibility with mineral oils depends on the content of aromatic hydrocarbons in the oil.

MVQ silicone is a non-toxic material. Among ozone, sunlight, and high temperatures, it is also resistant to fungal decay. It also has very good cold flexibility. Hence, MVQ seals can be used in high heat as well as food-related applications. Since MVQ silicone has low tensile strength and abrasion resistance, it cannot be used in extremely demanding applications.
